Energy Skills Queensland is a not-for-profit association of members from industry, training organisations and government to help industry connect with skills.
We engage with the mining, gas, electricity and telecommunication industries to research workforce needs and develop and implement solutions to address those needs.
The Generic Induction (GI) program has been designed and developed by Energy Skills Queensland through consultation with Industry, the Mines Inspectorate, Registered Training Organisations (RTO’s), Contractors and the industry union body.
The GI Program is a requirement for coal mine workers which provides training and assessment for industry endorsed Resource and Infrastructure Industry training package (RII). The GI Program is the first step in ensuring that all individuals working on mine sites have the capability to operate safely in their roles.
Participants who undertake the GI Program will be gaining the required knowledge and skills identified by the industry as being essential to work safely on a mine site.
